Lyn Winterbottom

The family of Lyn Winterbottom-Ingram would like to announce that Lyn has accepted a new position as Director of Humour for Heaven Inc.

Having learned that her bonus package would include lawn sales every day, and knowing you have to start early for the best stuff, Lyn left to start her new position on February 29 at the age of 76.  She would like to remind everyone that means we can only be sad every four years.

Upon arriving in Heaven, Lyn will be greeted by her husband Frank, and after a fabulous lunch the will see their son Andrew, as well as her parents, Lloyd Melville and Gladys Edith Maude, and many friends and relatives who are also employed by Heaven Inc.

She will bring warm wishes from her brothers Steven, Greg, and Jay, and her sister, Sherry.  She reminds them that distance is no longer an issue as she can now actually be in two places at the same time.

As part of her new responsibilities, she will be in constant contact with her lost husband, Mike, and her children, daughters Caryn & Kellie, and sons David & Mark.  Her numerous grandchildren should be aware she will be paying extra close attention to them.  Lyn says "When you hear a really good joke, remember me.  I probably told it years ago."

Her new uniform will consist of a Red Hat and a big smile.  She plans to keep an eye on The Sisters and will occasionally be in the East, helping the Stars.

Norma & Wade, and Lynne & Jennifer should also be on their best behaviour, FYI.

Although there are many highlights on her resume, such as graduating with honours from The University of Waterloo as an adult teaching professionally at local high schools, and jumping out of a plane at 14000 feet, many will remember Lyn simply for her kindness, her earrings, and her sincere delight in saying something outrageous just to make you smile.

If so desired, memorial donations to OSPCA (Bracebridge) or Algonquin Grace Hospice (Huntsville) would be acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

A going away party will be held in August, there will be cake.  Bring your own chair.

If the only prayer you ever say is "Thank You", it will be enough.
